Dual Capture in FaceTime: Show Your Face and Your View at Once

FaceTime in iOS 27 gets a creative new feature called Dual Capture.

How It Works

Dual Capture turns on your front and rear cameras at the same time. The person you are calling sees you and also whatever you are looking at, which is perfect for sharing a view, a product, or a moment.

Group Calls Arrive in iOS 27.2

At launch the feature worked in one-on-one calls. iOS 27.2 extends it to Group FaceTime for the first time.

Requirements

Dual Capture requires an iPhone 17 or later, and everyone on the call must be running iOS 27.

More Accessible Calls

FaceTime in iOS 27.2 also supports adding a third-party sign language interpreter or live captioner to a call, a welcome step for inclusive communication. Another small addition, Call Context, shows useful information on screen when you call a business.
