Liquid Glass Gets a Slider, and iOS 27 Feels Noticeably Faster

Apple’s Liquid Glass design debuted in iOS 26. In iOS 27 the company listens to feedback and fine-tunes it.

Your Choice of Transparency

Apple revised Liquid Glass to improve readability, and a new slider in Settings lets you choose how it looks, from ultraclear to fully tinted. If translucency distracted you before, you can now dial it down.

Speed Improvements

Performance was a major focus. According to Apple, app launches are up to 30 percent faster, new photos load in Photos up to 70 percent faster, and AirDrop transfers are up to 80 percent faster. Many reviewers also say the system feels quicker even on older iPhones.

Little Details

A new battery icon also arrives with this release.

The combination of customization and speed shows that iOS 27 is as much about polish as about new features.
